    A Salute To Fouad Siniora

Fouad Siniora, the prime minister of Lebanon, deserves a salute for his responsible stance in the last events. By declaring Monday a day of mourning for the ‘Martyrs’, even though my definition of martyrdom doesn’t necessarily apply to those who were tragically killed in Sunday’s incidents, Fouad Siniora didn’t give Hezbollah and Amal the chance to attack him based on this and gave a positive message to the shiite community that Hezbollah and Amal are leading us towards further isolation.

Because of some mistakes have been made by certain figures in March 14, this positive message will probably stay without major effect. The approach taken by the government and the one that can be found in the latest communique of Democratic Renewal Movement leader Nassib Lahoud is certainly the right one regarding those very critical events. The risks of Civil war are major, it is not really the appropriate time to score points especially of a sectarian nature.
